Can switching semi-frequently between monitor inputs cause damage to an LCD monitor?

Can switching semi-frequently between monitor inputs cause damage to an LCD monitor? I have an Acer G245H 24" monitor with VGA, DVI, and HDMI inputs. I have been using the VGA for my PC and the HDMI connection to hook up my PS3, because I don't have a HD television set yet, and the picture quality difference between my HD computer monitor and my 32" SD TV is like night and day... However, my few months old monitor failed a week or two after I started switching between inputs. It's under warranty and Acer said it was the power supply unit that had failed. Now I would love to hook up my PS3 again and continue my input-switching lifestyle, but I am paranoid as to whether it was the frequent input switching that caused the monitor's PSU to fail...

Answer:
Not a chance in hell. Faulty power supply is faulty and was not caused by switching inputs.

No, with bonus anecdata: I've had my monitor since 2009, with my PC and the Xbox 360 into it; my other half's monitor is just over a year old, with a PC, 360 and PS3 into it. Constant input switching in that time has not had any noticeable effect on either monitor's functionality.
