How do I edit and load educational videos into my kindle fire?

How do I edit and load educational videos into my kindle fire? I am a soccer (football) coach of a U11 girls competitive team. I have access to lots of game videos, mostly in .mov and .flv format. I want to use these videos for educational purposes. I would like to edit these videos into shorter clips, like under a minute. For example, put three 15 second clips together of same type of play in three different games. (So, I need to isolate the 15 second clips in a larger video, then stitch them together into a single video.) Then, I would like to load the new video into my kindle fire tablet. That way, occasionally during practice, I can show a video to some of the players (to teach a certain play or help them to grasp a new concept). There is no wifi out on the practice fields. I have no experience or knowledge about video editing, but am willing to make an effort to learn. (I do know that the "Windows Movie Maker" program on my computer does not seem to recognize my video files.) My kindle fire is brand new. I have no idea how to load videos into the kindle, except by purchasing them through Amazon. Is it even possible to do what I want to do here? Can anyone help me? I am willing to spend some money to buy a video editting program, but not hundreds. I am not willing to spend hundred to a different tablet.

Answer:
I used Handbrake to convert my files to MP4, though I'm sure others will be along to recommend the best editing/converting software for your specific needs. I can help a bit with getting vidoes on the Fire, though. Once you have the files as compatible files for the Fire, it's as simple as drag and drop to load them on the device. Connect the Kindle to your computer, then simply drag the files from your hard drive and drop them in the video folder on the Kindle. The trick is, they don't show up in the video menu on the Fire (apparently that's only for content purchased from the Amazon store). You'll find them in the photo gallery on your Fire.

Pazera, which works much faster than Handbrake, offers free video conversion and extraction software: http://www.pazera-software.com Install the Pazera suite, choose the appropriate format (whatever your Kindle will accept), choose an output folder, then drag and drop your files onto Pazera and click CONVERT.

I got it to work. The tips you both gave me were very helpful - I just needed that kick in the direction, and you two gave it to me. Thank you.
