How to show android bitmapdrawable change on next clickevents?

Visual notepad reminder widgets for Android.

  • I'm looking for an Android app with a widget that displays on the home screen and will show me if one or more notes exists in the notepad. I want something that will display a 1x1 widget that will change colour, or display the number of notes, or change icon, or basically have some kind of visual change if a/any notes exist in the notepad. I'm not tied to any particular notepad software, I just need something that will let me add a note or reminder to myself and then visually remind me that it's there. I looked into Evernote, but it seems to be overkill for what I want, and the widget app for it makes the widget too large. I don't want something that appears in the status bar, buzzes or beeps to remind me. I'm running Android 2.3.5. I'd also like it to be free, if possible.
