How to hide friends list in 360's?

Can I hide my friends list from my friends?

  • Is there a way to edit Facebook to make your friends list completely private? I'd like to hide my friends list from everyone - even people who are already linked to be as a friend. I'd like to do this to respect the privacy of my friends. I've edited the friends box so that it won't show to people who aren't my friends.. but there has to be a way to make it more private, no? Any HTML hacks out there? your help is much appreciated!

  • Answer:

But a few of the comments answer this exact question. Well, one comment mentions it in passing. I wouldn't consider that to be authoritative. DiscourseMaker's link seems to be the right answer. You simply shouldn't add anyone as a friend if you're not comfortable with them knowing who all your Facebook friends are. Even if someone has created a "hack" around this, I wouldn't count on anything about Facebook's interface staying constant; as Facebook frequently tinkers with that kind of thing. Even if someone has come up with a brilliant way around the current privacy mechanisms (or lack thereof), you could never be sure that the site wouldn't change in some way that would render the hack ineffective.

That thread isn't about preventing your friends from seeing your friends list.

That thread isn't about preventing your friends from seeing your friends list. But a few of the comments answer this exact question. And no, you can't. There is no way to keep your friends list private from your friends.

Just to echo ishotjr, Facebook basically considers your friends list to be public information: http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=768#!/help/?faq=16427 http://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.php

DiscourseMarker

Looks like as of Monday they've started allowing this. Apparently they're not making the changes to all profiles at once, though, so you might have to wait a few days. See the fourth to last paragraph http://blog.facebook.com/blog.php?post=382978412130 for how to do it.
