Were are some good camping areas in Michigan?

Seeking recommendations for camping in the New River Gorge National Park

  • Camping in the New River Gorge, seeking recommendations for picking a camping area. I'm driving from Michigan to the New River Gorge next week w/ my 9 & 12 yo boys. We hope to camp, fish, swim and explore for several days before heading south to North Carolina. The http://www.nps.gov/neri/planyourvisit/campgrounds.htm Website shows several camping areas, but they lack specific details like "good for swimming," or more importantly "treacherous swimming." We'll be getting there late in the day after a very long drive & it'd be great to arrive with a recommendation or some advice from the hive. hit me.

For fishing and swimming, I would suggest checking out summersville lake. We always swim from orange oswald, right on summersville lake.
