Hotmail on Blackberry

Hotmail on Blackberry (Bold 9700) driving me crazy; I'd either like to have it as an account that doesn't mix with my Outlook account (seems impossible) or I'd like to access it through my brower *without having to log in every time.* Are either of these possible? http://ask.metafilter.com/118826/BlackberrywannagetGMailfilter-The-business-that-I-work-for-gave-me-a-Blackberry-I-can-get-my-work-emails-no-problem-Is-it-possible-to-add-my-personal-GMail-account-seperately-If-yes-is-there-any-p(from last year) about BB & gmail concludes that; if you add your webmail as a BB email account, the messages will mix with your Outlook messages the solution is the gmail app Additionally, when I did manage set up my Hotmail BB email account, test messages didn't arrive until much later - I'm assuming they're retrieved at specific intervals? So; 1a) is it possible to set up a Hotmail BB email account that doesn't mix the messages with Outlook 1b) if so, would the inbox only be updated at a specific intervals 2) is there an equivalent Hotmail/ Windows live app like the gmail one (I searched on the Windows Live Mobile site, and it told me to set up a BB account) 3) if all this fails and I just access Hotmail through my browser, is it possible to stay logged in? There is an option to "save password" but it has no affect. And typing in my full email address & password on a BB every time I want to check my mail is driving me crazy. Thanks!

Answer:
Open your 'Messages' application, press the BlackBerry key, choose Options, then Inbox Settings, and uncheck the mailboxes you don't want combined with your Exchange or preferred email account. By default, these alternative mailboxes are hidden on the homescreen in BlackBerry OS 5. You may have to 'Show All' and then unhide the Hotmail account.

If I recall correctly, sometimes this is controlled by theme. I have Precision Zen as the active theme on my BB OS5 (Tour) and have separate containers for each individual e-mail account, as well as a container for SMS/MMS. I "hide" the main "Messages" icon because I like accessing accounts individually. Maybe try a different theme?

good start - thanks. With regard to 1b), how will I test this? If I send myself a hotmail message, it doesn't show up, and I don't know how long it will take.

Oh, and where do I Show All/ Unhide?

Emails to providers that aren't push enabled are delivered at set intervals for BlackBerry. It checks every twenty minutes for new mail and then sends it to your device; if the last polling of the account showed new messages, it'll check again in two minutes. If it doesn't, then it's back to 20 minutes.

Yeah - I'm not getting 20 minute updates; it's been over 30 and I haven't received my test mail.

Still nada....

Did you send the email from your hotmail address to your hotmail address? My BB gets a little confused when I send emails to myself, and they usually end up showing in the Sent folder, if at all. I'd recommend sending it from a different address if you haven't already.
