How can I convert MPEG2 to HD-DVD?

Will iDVD Convert MPEG2? Will It Output VIDEO_TS?

    iDVD wants to convert anything you import, even MPEG2, AFAIK. iDVD only burns to SuperDrive, it appears. Toast Titanium will take a pre-encoded MPEG2 file and let you build menus for it, and export to a VIDEO_TS or IMG file.

Aha. So would you be able to run iDVD on a machine without a SuperDrive, and use that patch to output to an image file? I'd love to avoid the SuperDrive surcharge if possible, though iDVD looks like a very nice app for setting up the DVD volume.
