Since I believe God is Love personified, I never blame God for whatever misfortune comes my way.  And yes, I have known suffering, but have never blamed the Source of Love Divine. To my way of thinking, if we find ourselves blaming Love and asking Love for a favor, we have a mistaken idea of who God is.

Anyone that knows the Bible knows the answer. Matthew 6;31-34 So never be anxious and say, What are we to eat or, What are we to drink or, What are we to put on 32 For all these are the things the nations are eagerly pursuing. For YOUR heavenly Father knows YOU need all these things. 33 Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these [other] things will be added to YOU. 34 So, never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Sufficient for each day is its own badness.

Great question. I am in that position now.  Yes, there are times when I am afraid.  I cry, I get depressed, sad and I get tired.  Of life.  But "the joy of the Lord is my strength". Nehemiah 8:10.  He comes to me softly and when I least expect it, to give me strength.  And I realize, I'd rather be in this position and have Christ, then to have all the world has to offer but not have Christ.  I have learned so much during this time.  How to appreciate what I have, make the most of what I have and how to be wiser in everything I do.  For instance, I now use a lot more rags for cleaning vs all the paper towels I would normally use therefore spending a lot more money on paper towels.  Using vinegar to clean vs. expensive cleaners and I love the things I have learned during this time. Both the practical and the spiritual. I do not know what will happen.  But this I can tell you, "my eyes are on Him".  2Chronicles 20:12b.  So has my faith been affected? Yes, I think so.  For the better. Elsa

[...This question is for those people whose life is in turmoil not those who are surviving this recession without missing a paycheck, retirement check or living off of investments. You would not understand this question because you feel blessed...] If having a P/T job is being 'blessed' and just getting by ...then OK ...I simply don't understand the question. But I have been there and done that...and never once have I questioned my faith in God. For as one other poster here has said, any predicament I was in while out of work was my fault alone. And God had nothing to do with it. Very few people accept self blame/responsibility for their own actions....It's always someone else's fault. Of course having the wrong leader running the country doesn't help much either. So let's make it a 50/50 split. 50% is my screw up and 50% the job economy is screwed up.

Interesting question. I always believe that everything happens to me for a good reason. Any suffering I experience is just the fruit of my past actions, and God is not to blame for that.

Hello Missing Links I appreciate your comment. Being a person who has put in my time to study the scriptures from Genesis to Revelations I get 3 things about you.  Your knowledge level of the scriptures where your knowledge of the scriptures and reality meet how difficult your finances have been since this 3 year recession the pundits say is the worst since the great depression. The scriptures you lsited  are not genie in the bottle and poof all your prayers are answered by the Lord. Revelations makes reference to angels presenting large containers of unanswered prayers to the lord. Go look it up for yourself. Millions of faithful Christian's are experiencing the pain listed in my question and different ones not listed. Despite praying, crying, hopefulness and using all the faith they possess without their situations changing. Some mature Christians know that seeking the kingdom or being in the kingdom will still have your life in the mess I have listed above. My question is directed to them. Peace

Hello Elsa thanks for your answer. You remind me of the axiom the Bible scriptures create in forming the conclusions in the minds of men. Your yedda page explains living an average life while being an average lady. You have used scriptures to sustain your mental strength to endure such a life. Yet the Bible promises so much more for this life time and the next. As Missing Links has stated above. Missing Links has information on her yedda page that reflect her living a more prosperous life financially. Therefore her scripture reference relate to all the prosperity scriptures and God manifesting all your desires in this lifetime. I look at individuals in the realm of christianity and review the blueprint of scriptures of the Bible and discover how it is all things to all people. Depending upon thier situations and circumstances in life. I am reminded of the chicken and the egg theory. Which came first? There is no consistency in the outcome of your life by following the scriptures to the best of your ability. Job follow the scriptures and was still led to enormous distress in life. This biblical story is harmful in that readers believe they will be delivered from the ills of life like Job. In reality this deliverance, restoration and big payoff does not happen to 90% of Christians. They live there whole existence on earth just surviving and yet others on earth live in opulence. The question is who is really in control on earth? The bible tells us evil is in control and deceive you through religion. Yet people miss this point and still  blindly follow religion which tells you how to think. What an amazing oxymoron. I am daring to do what has been forbidden. The bible teaches us never to question God about  all the ills on earth, it  is mankind's fault.  Wow, I am starting to say what is God's part in all this mess. He never take any blame for anything that goes wrong in this realm according to the bible. It is hard to remember every scripture. Can you list any scriptues where the God of the Bible says--- I messed this whole thing on earth up. Not that man messed it all up...Me God has messed it up.
