How much does it cost to own a donkey per year roughly I know that the feed for one horse feeds up to five donkeys. I'm looking into adoption so please help?

You are correct, donkeys do not normally need as much feed as a horse. But in general, you should budget out about the same costs. The donkey still needs a fenced area, a shelter, fresh water. You will still need to provide good quality hay, and some grain as a supplement (oats, 9-10 % protein feed in small amounts). The donkey will need hoof care, worming and vaccinations as would a horse. The total cost may not be as low as half, but your feed bill itself will be lower.
