Ok you have a Toyota MR2 1987 when your on the interstate going about 70 your getting off and you take it out of gear and psuh it clutch then it cuts off making you dump the clutch so it starts why?

Is it possible that your idle speed is too low? This can cause the engine to stall if the revs drop quickly (like when you change gear). New Answer: Check the ECM. My 88 sc MR2 did the same thing if I pulled it out of gear on the highway. It would just turn its self off when i pulled it out of gear to coast and i would have to restart it in the middle of the highway.
