How to advertise local advertisement?

  • Apparently, it is really hard to get small businesses to advertise their stores digitally. Google tries to - simplify AdWords - educate store owners with free courses to setup a website etc - introduce a digital smartphone wallet - introduce a loyality reward app that also collects immediate anonymous feedback All these efforts are undertaken to interact with store owners and to persuade them of the value of local ads. Groupon, on the other hand, sends advertisement sellers to the stores directly with tremenduous labour cost. So which other ways could help to replace the good old yellow pages and newspapers? Is it possible at all? My mother, for example, does not even have a smartphone, but she reads newspapers attentively. Maybe it is just too soon for local advertisement?

    Yellow Pages & newspapers are a complement to advertisement, they reach both offline & online audience. I think they are also good signals for local SEO, they are local, natural & authoritative... It's the perfect mix. In terms of ads, I find Facebook very efficient to reach a local audience but it's surely not for all markets.

It’s definitely not too soon for local ads. If I were you, I would look into Facebook ads as they are hyper targeted. Not only can you specify your demographic, but you can also even narrow it down to your geographic area.It helps that over 1,000,000,000 use FB so they have this info.With all respects to your momma, she’s the minority at this point in regards to marketing. Do an analysis and figure out who is you ideal client. Most likely, they use the internet/smartphone.Paws up!
