Try Whova (http://whova.com ).  It aggregates all kinds of internet data into one profile (news, company pages, of course social network sites.. ).   It distinguishes people with the same name, and it seems accurate. Most of all, I think the people connection information is valuable;  different from LinkedIn.

I'm generally trying to get valid phone numbers for people.  To start with I use http://www.zabasearch.com/ - this often will give me family member names that are listed under the same address or phone number.  Usually I already know the address when I use this. Then if I need more information I'll see what is available on http://pipl.com/ which is a gateway to http://www.intelius.com once the results are found.  They offer name, address, phone number, email addresses, age and relatives.
