How to integrate paypal into your IOS app using swift?

How reliable is Google Analytics in an iOS app?

  • I didn't know until recently we could integrate analytics. I've seen stats of an app using it (with a lot of active users) and I have some doubts, for example 19 minutes spent in average seems very high regarding the app. Is there a free reliable alternative dedicated for iOS apps?

  • Answer:

Google Analytics has an analytics SDK especially for iOS, you can find the details at http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/mobile/ios.html

Google Analytics is a nice catch all tool that will give you a broad overview of your app. But it does have its issues from what I have heard in terms of reliability. In fact, the far majority of successful apps don’t rely only on Google Analytics or Flurry, they’ll employ a couple of analytics platform to get a better picture of their app’s users and their actions.I strongly believe that all of these types of analytics platforms will need to adjust from old-fashioned numeric-only analytics, called quantitative analytics, to qualitative analytics. Ideally, you want to know not just what your users are doing, but WHY they are doing it.You need to really know what your user is experiencing. You need to see what he or she sees so that you can quickly understand what makes them come back to your app time and time again (or what makes them drop your app like a hot potato). The cutting edge in-app analytics platforms will offer qualitative analytics. They’ll go beyond the numbers and give you deeper insights into your users and their experience. Here’s a great ebook that explains this revolutionary change in analytics:https://www.appsee.com/ebooks/qualitative-guide/?cpnid=701b0000000catOLet me know if you have any questions and I’ll be happy to help in any way I can!

Google Analytics is quite reliable and close to real time, compare to flurry. There are other alternates such as kiss metrics, clicky and mixed panel, and each has its strong points and benefits. You just have to see what works in your specific situation. However, The key issue with all of these analytics tools is that no one shares the raw data. They always just give you reports. This works for many companies but If you really care about the raw data and history so you can generate any report out of it anytime in the future than you have to collect your own data. There are different options but we mostly went with Elastic search ELK stack for these types of needs.
