Does an average Android developer get the same salary as an average backend (java/c++) developer?

Can an average Android developer get the same amount of money as an average backend (java/c++) developer? I've heard that backend developers (especially experienced ones) make more money than Android developers, as Android is easy to learn and even the average 15 year old can make a lot of Android apps, but learning an implementing backend technologies is tougher and more complex, and hence more money is paid to backend developers.

Taking a look at the current trends in salary on YouWorth shows the following: Android Development - $114k/yearJava - $81k/yearC++ - $142k/yearIt appears that C++ developers are certainly paid more. As others have mentioned here, Android development, as a whole, will likely fluctuate a lot in the coming years. A lot of people will be entering the market fresh out of school which will probably drive salaries down a little. My personal recommendation would be to do what makes you happy. I donât see any of these markets taking a dive any time soon and good developers who can bring strong solutions to the table will ALWAYS be highly valued. Also, I pulled these numbers from http://www.youworthapp.com/?utm_source=Quora&utm_medium=Web&utm_campaign=Post+Answer. http://www.youworthapp.com/?utm_source=Quora&utm_medium=Web&utm_campaign=Post+Answer is a free mobile app for both iOS and Android that tracks http://www.youworthapp.com/?utm_source=Quora&utm_medium=Web&utm_term=android+developer+salary&utm_campaign=Post+Answer data. Not only am I an ambassador for http://www.youworthapp.com/?utm_source=Quora&utm_medium=Web&utm_campaign=Post+Answer, but I use it myself. The app allows anyone to import LinkedIn skills and track their job market value over time. YouWorth notifies me at any point there is a change in either my value or the value of skills I follow. This is a great tool to use when looking into your own career and skill set for something like programming languages. You can trend their values over time and give yourself a better idea of the answer you are looking for.
