Art Schools and Education: Why was Beuys dismissed from his teaching post?
-
-
Answer:
Mainly because he held radically different views on how the education system should work. He wanted his classes open to anyone and would teach anyone who came. You could see how administration at a university would very much not allow this kind of behavior.

One of the photos I took of Beuys back in... well a very long time ago. As Mr. Lookerse says in his answer here Josephs' ideas of open art education were radical and revolutionary.
