What are the famous online selling sites besides eBay and Amazon?

What do vinyl record collectors dislike the most about selling records online at sites like Discogs, Amazon and Ebay?

  • Answer:

I can tell you what I don't like about buying online: I don't get to hold the product in my hands, or examine it (in the hopes of finding, or not finding, imperfections). It also is harder to satisfyingly browse, for me. I find when I use those sites to buy used records, I need to go there pretty much knowing what I am looking for, or at least have a pretty good idea. When I go somewhere like Gramaphone records (in Chicago) I just go through random bins of records, and always find something I 'didn't realize I wanted' browsing through the back-stock...

Other answers

As an occasional seller on Discogs, I dislike the hefty commissions that the site charges for every sale. At 8% (minimum: $ 0,10 - maximum $ 500) this cuts down your profit quite a bit. On the other hand, I suppose it is those fees that keep the site free from advertisement and provide an overall well curated platform.
