Is this a good weight for my Syrian Hamster?

How do I get my hamster to lose weight?

  • I have 2 hamsters, an older male and a younger female.(: My male hamster Roscoe is way over weight. Hes about a year and a half. He has a wheel and a ball he runs around in. When he gets on his wheel or in his ball he goes really slow. My other hamster Roxie who I got about a month ago shares a home with Roscoe and is ery healthy. Roscoe eats most the food and i dont want to cut down on the food because i think roscoe will eat it all and Roxie will not get any :/ . I want Roscoe to loose weight but im not sure how. Any advice?? (: Thanks

    The solution for this is to replace sugary treats with vegetables. Increase exercise, so that the hamster will lose weight and get fitter. I had three rabbits, one of them was over weight. I started portioning his food to a certain amount a day. I built him a out door play pen for him to run around and exercise. He lost some weight.
