Laptop not recognizing my hard drive anymore?

I have a Toshiba laptop, with an external hard drive, and my laptop isn't recognizing it. It has before, so, what could be the problem?

  • Answer:

Have you made sure the power light or indicator light has come on if it has one? Also try a different port. If it still doesn't work then we can check the device manager to check the status and if it even detects it. Make sure another USB device works on your computer to rule out USB failure.
