Baby and mosquito bites?

How do you know the difference between chicken pox and mosquito bites on your baby?

  • My baby woke up this morning with about 7 red spots on his face and neck

  • Answer:

If its only on his face and neck, I doubt it would be pox as pox would be all over. It could be a rash, spider bites or mosquitos.. Are the bumps clumped together? if so you could have bed bugs. I'd call the pediatrician just incase...

Chicken pox cover the body and usually aren't in a small area. Chicken pox are also extremely itchy and the baby would most likely show the pain

The difference between chicken pox and mosquito bites is that a mosquito bite swelling will tend to go down after a while, as opposed to chicken pox. Chicken pox rash becomes worse as it progresses, and they tend to occur on the trunk. You may consult a doctor to inquire more.
