Is there a vin check report thats cheaper than carfax but you get the same information? I need a vehicle history report for a used car. thx!

CarFax's free vin check dealio shows you if the car has any recalls, etc. of course, you have to buy the report to get the full detail. Other than that, you can run an NICB report for free to check for Liens, Theft, and Title Brands; this will tell you if the car has been reported stolen, has a lien on it, or has any title brands (i.e. reconstructed, salvaged, etc). But neither of those reports will give you very much information other than the basics.
