How are SAT/ACT scores sent to colleges?

Should ACT test scores be sent to colleges before you know how you did on it?!

  • my daughter is taking it tomorrow. They will send 4 colleges the results for free if you notify them before the exam. What if she bombs the test? Should we wait and see how she does, then spend the money to send the scores out? We know she will not take the test again as she is a senior. She is also taking SAT.

  • Answer:

If she does well then it may be in her favor to have the scores sent out; I would suggest talking to her about what she feels would be the best thing for her academic future.

The most favorable option is to see the results before sending the scores. According to online sources, you can check out the scores first before sending the results to the respective colleges. Many colleges require that you look at the results before you send them. However you should remember to send them on time.
