If someone dies in an ambulance does the EMT call time of death or does the doctor do that after they arrive at the hospital?

Answer:
What I was taught in school is that NO you can not call time of death, we are considered "Medical Investigators" if you will, not Doctors. So even if you pull a body out of the river on a rescue mission, they are freezing, non responsive you work on them, you secure their airway as unconcious patients can not, tube/bag ... ABC's and get them to the hospital. And then leave it at the door because you as an EMT/Medic did your best.
