How much does a LCD TV weigh?

  • I'm travelling to Singapore using a low cost carries that requries me to buy check in luggage space in advance by weight. I plan to buy a TV on the way back (32-42 inch - not decided) and need to know how much it might weigh. The categories available to me are Standard Luggage **15kgS$15Small **20kgS$17Medium **25kgS$35Large **30kgS$70

    Look online for specifications based on the brand. At 51 inches they tend to weigh over forty pounds, but I suspect you wouldn't be putting one of those in your luggage.

My advice would be to look on Amazon, the product pages have a section called “Boxed-product Weight” and that tells you what they are in the box.A quick check: 32in Bravia - 7kg 40in Panasonic - 15kg (Panasonic TV’s are usually heavier on average in my experience) 43in LG - 13kg 48in Samsung - 14kg Remember that baggage handlers aren’t delicate and you have a good risk of the TV being broken in transit. Also the airline might have some size restrictions as well as weight.
