Would you submit a one or two page resume for an online job application?

I've seen a lot of alumni going with a one page resume and including a line on the bottom that reads "See my Linkedin profile for a more detailed description of my work." It's a clever way to show them more information if they're really interested in the one page resume. To me this is much more useful than the useless 'references available upon request' line. (I mean, it's assumed you will have references-if you don't have references, that would be a serious problem.)

Applying online may be a little hard given the amount of individuals who are as capable as you. If this is your first time doing freelance online work then that in itself is a big setback. The most unusual ones include starting your cover letter with a certain word, answering a totally irrelevant question (like the name of your favorite band) or formatting the cover letter in a particular way. Employers make these strange requests to see whether you’ve gone through the entire job ad and understood the information it contains. Anyone who fails addressing the strange task has obviously skipped over this information. Answering a weird question will require just a couple of seconds and it reveals that you’re capable of following instructions. Don’t underestimate the importance of those little “tests.” Passing can make all the difference in the world 10. Make Sure that You’re the Best Professional for the Job Even if you follow all of the suggestions listed in this article, chances are that you will not get the job if you aren’t the best candidate. Continue investing in yourself. Most industries change rapidly. Professionals constantly have to acquire new skills to keep their experience relevant. My own resume is 2 pages, but page 1 provides enough meat for readers to want to go onto page 2.

A one -page resume shall be good enough or if you are more experienced professional then a 1-2 page is fair enough. The idea is to remove the irrelevant stuff out. This shall also make you do more reviews and revisions when working upon the same for the respective job-post.Your relevant stress shall make for the assessment and further shortlist.
