If your a paralegal can you interview a client?

When transcribing an interview/video, what is the best way to "bleep" a customer's name that my client doesn't want exposed?

  • Should I replace client's name with [Client A], [Confidential], or something else? There is a list of clients that I need to "bleep" out.

  • Answer:

I'd probably use [client A] or something similar. That way you are still assigning them a unique identifier, so if they get referred to later on in the interview people still know who the speaker is talking about without knowing WHO they're talking about. If there are multiple censored parties you risk muddling the narrative and making the interview hard to follow if you just make all instances (censored) or something of the like.
