What are the best email marketing tools that can be used for a daily deals website in 2012?

  • Hello, Just to let you know first that I am a fresher. :D I am writting my first marketing plan and I am wondering what tools can be used for email marketing for a just created daily deals website. I know that nowadays, people are not very receptive to emails coming from daily deals websites I looked at services of companies like MailChimp, Sailthru, Rapleaf, AdStack, Returnpath, LeadSpend, OPTIZMO but I really do not know what to consider before choosing... Need your help please! Thanks

    To Nate : it is true that Groupon is using ExactTarget for emails... for a couple of more weeks. It is moving all emails to an in-house solution. You can also consider ExpressPigeon: http://expresspigeon.com for daily deal emails

The truth is that if you have a daily deals website with every day mailing, the volume you send is big, so you have to find a vendor that will not charge you according to the volume you send, but will offer a monthly plan according to the number of recipients in your mailing list, regardless of the volume. There are such ESPs like Moosend, Mailchimp etc, with affordable monthly plans, but I would suggest you avoid responsys or other vendors which charge you on total emails sent. Although I cant speak about the many other choices out there, you may want to look at Exact Target.  Why?
