How to start a conversation with clients?

What is the best way to start a mobile app business with foreign clients abroad? What types of marketing does my company need?

  • Hello everyone, I own a small software company situated in Croatia, Europe. We love our job, and most of time we develop iOS and Android mobile applications. Sometimes we develop the product for our clients, and sometimes we develop an app and put it on the market for specified clients. We recently got the request for creating a business proposal for an iPad application (pharmaceutical purpose). It was a big international pharmaceutical company with headquarters all over the world. unfortunately, we got rejected, but it was quite interesting for all of us. All the companies in USA and Europe (that have good businesses and relatively high life standards) want cheaper working force (India, or in our case, Central Europe). Q: What is the best way to get to the foreign market place, to be active on the market place, to get more and more foreign clients?  because we live in a low-standard European country (still not a member of European union), so it is much harder for us to meet foreign investors, clients and companies to develop mobile apps for / or join together with them in an another company. We are sure that we have the skills and knowledge to make pretty-much every kind of mobile app possible. So, what are the best marketing strategies, so the companies can be familiar with our services? how do tech companies (for instance)in India or China get their foreign projects to work on? thank you very much in advance

    Hi, The best way to get foreign customers is marketing and active sales. Since most of your customers will be businesses it is worthwhile to do marketing on linkedin, you can start with joining groups and once you have a good number of connections you can start publishing write-ups which could be about your applications, customer successes etc. This way I am sure you will get lot of people interested in your products / services. A word of caution though - plan your marketing activities for 3 months in advance and make sure your salespeople are capable to close the inbound leads.
