How to fix laptop screen?

I dropped my old laptop almost 2 months ago I think. Now it wont load past the welcome screen, how do I get it fixed can I fix it myself?

Okay so I have dropped my laptop but its been awhile. It was an Acer laptop. I have it on now but I think it has to charge, it has a like grey/black screen right now? Is it charging or should I turn it off and restart it again. I rebooted it I think and now its got it to the black/grey screen. Hasnt been to the welcome screen yet what should I do. Its been on the black/grey screen for almost 10 mins now

The problem might be that your hard disk's integrity was affected and you need to run a utility disk to try and repair the damage. If this does not solve the problem, contact an expert because it would be a hardware problem.
