Cant you just put it on a ferry?? You do know though that WHERE you buy a car has nothing to do with the quality of the car. You buy a Charger in NY or you buy it in Jersey.... its still a Charger.

I don't understand why you don't just drive it through the tunnel? Listen NY, NJ it doesn't matter, you either get a good car or a bad car. It is like a blow dryer. You buy the same model every time. sometimes it lasts 7 years and sometimes it last 7 months. It all has to do with what is going on at the manufacturing end.

If a dealer gives you temporary plate, (you need to bring proof of insurance, which you can get just using the VIN number), you can drive it to NJ and register it. If you buy from an individual, the ripoffs are so common that I wouldn't pay them unless they came with me to the DMV to verify that the title is genuine and doesn't have a lien on it. People have been stuck with cars they can't register. The seller can have borrowed against the title and some sellers report the car stolen after you exchange cash for the title and drive away. If you went alone, you don't even have a witness and they have 2 or 3 that would say you were test driving it and never paid. You would have to go return the car or be accused of a felony. Fake titles for stolen cars can be made in photoshop. The watermark is missing... how many people know to look for the watermark in the paper the title is printed on.
