Is there a such thing as a travel visa for people in a romantic relationship? (read details)

My foreign friend recently told me about a certain travel visa her friends had that permitted one to live in the other's country on the basis that they were in a committed romantic relationship--not married, not even engaged, just dating. I have a guy who wants an American visa who can't get one and I was interested in looking into this, it just seems way too easy--is it true?

    No, if you're married you can get a visa. Think about it, all you'd have to do to stay anywhere at anytime, is to date someone from the host country. That would make student, work & travel visas just paper. Why go through the hassle when you could just say I'm dating Jane or John Doe & stay forever
