The most basic things you need are pencils, pens, lined paper, a folder with tabs, and a backpack. That's it, you won't need crayons, scissors, or markers any more.

Spiral notebooks (2-3) , packs of paper, 3 ring binder, pencils, highlighters, pens (typically black or blue and a red for grading) btw im in my second year of highschool. I had the same problem the first year . These are ALL the BASICS. Good luck in high-school
