What does neuropathic (nerve) pain feel like?

Nerve pain is not pounding/throbbing.aching pain is it? Nerve pain is like sharp, shooting, stinging, stabbing pain, yes? I've been experiencing nerve pain, so my GP has put me on Gabapentin. I just wanted to ask the question: "What does nerve pain feel like? Can you describe it?

Also, burning, tingleing, a sharp and constant ache, Yes I'm a "sufferer "! Pounding / throbbing usually associated with migraine / blood pressure related pain. My major complaint is from M.S. where this type of pain is common. :(
