TV Shows From The 90's?

How are '80s and '90s cartoons still popular when most of these shows aren't even shown on TV anymore?

  • I am curious- I used to watch a lot of cartoons in my youth- both from the '80s and '90s. How are they still popular when most aren't even shown on TV anymore? Boomerang is the only network on satellite/cable TV that still shows classic toons and they don't really show that many from the '80s and '90s like they used to. The same can be said about Toon Disney which is now Disney XD. (I think Toon Disney changed it's name to cater to the Internet generation). I know a lot of these old shows have been released on DVD and many have episodes that can be seen on sites like YouTube and other web viral sites. I have seen talks about some of these old toons and I am surprised to learn that these kids and young people know about them. Please help.

    Comedy is comedy, no matter how old, I love the old Tom&Jerry cartoons. Collect dvds of everything from Disney, to Nick! To me its art brought to life, and I'm amazed at the newer forms of animation coming down the pike. ;)
