How do I delete a LinkedIn profile?

If you point a LinkedIn ad back to your LinkedIn profile, do people who clicked-through show up in "Who's Viewed My Profile?" section for my account?

  • Being a former user of LinkedIn ads and a current job-seeker, I jumped at the $100 ad credit they offered me. I pointed the ad back to my linked-in profile. So, any logged-in user who clicked the ad would count as a Profile View in LinkedIn analytics. Even if they've opted out, it should still say "anonymous user". So ad clicks should be equal to profile views. Well in practice, even though I'm told I generated 39 click-throughs, I got at MOST 3 recorded profile views from the process. Presumably, you must be logged-in for the ads to target, because I was going for people in a specific industry in my geographic area. So my conclusion is either that people who click ads don't show up in Who's Viewed My Profile, or all the clicks I got from this campaign were phantom or bot-based. What am I missing?

  • Answer:

I'm going to guess that most of those people fell out before the page loaded. Maybe when they clicked the ad, and started to see a LinkedIn profile starting to load, maybe the closed the window or hit back? That's an awfully high percentage to fall out, though. I'm with you - I think that if someone came through an ad, they should show up as having viewed. The traffic method shouldn't affect how the profile is viewed.
