Google Voice not Active on my new phone?

How do I synchronize my Google Voice number with my AT&T phone and allow calls to reach both my AT&T phone and Google Voice account?

  • So I added my Pure mobile phone (on an plan, it's also under the Windows Mobile OS) to , but now when I call the normal number of my AT&T phone, the calls all get auto-forwarded to Google Voice and I can't even pick up calls on my real HTC Pure phone (or Google Voice) anymore - all I can do is receive voicemail on Google Voice now. How can I correct this?

  • Answer:

From the behavior your are describing, it sounds like you may have forwarded your AT&T Wireless phone number to Google Voice. If you want Google Voice to be the voicemail box for your AT&T Wireless Phone number, you want to put on call forward busy/no answer on your AT&T line. You can do this by navigating to https://www.google.com/voice#phones and then click on "Activate Google voicemail on this phone" and it will instruct you to dial **004*1xxxyyyzzzz# on your phone (where xxxyyyzzzz is your phone number). (I believe you do not actually need to go to this page to do this, but I have not tested what happens if you have not informed Google Voice that you are forwarding by this method.)
