What are methods to sell to customer who has competitors software?

Our products was second on the market. We are better in functionalities, UX, quality and maintanence cost. But potencial customer has already bought competition solution. How to approach such situations. Whare is your action list in such case.

Ask the customer why they bought it, what they liked most about it, how they arrived at the decision to buy it (price, name brand recognition, etc.) Even if the opportunity is potentially lost, you can become the "Student" at understanding how those prospects "Buy".
