How to clear text fields in jpanel?

Why does Chrome only do auto suggestions for text fields and not also for text boxes?

• I've stumbled across this multiple times: reloaded a page with forms made out of text fields and some text boxes, had to write all of the long texts again. Is this not really a use case or why does Chrome not do this? I guess most other browsers don't do that, too. Safari would be the other one i know about.

  The reason is because most of the time you're not writing the same thing in a text area or text box, as you call it. For example, you write your comments in the text area but you never type the same comment twice. You are usually engaging in either a conversation with a community or asking for help on forums. It would be annoying if I had auto suggestions for the text area as I never write the same thing twice. Just like my answer to this question. Its not the same answer I give to all questions. But text fields are different. They are usually asking for common info from the user such as name, email, address, etc. This is information I type in a lot on many websites and its nice to have an auto complete for these fields. If there is ever a reason that there should be an auto complete for a text area it would be a rare case and should be up to the web developers for that site to come up with a way to have some auto complete functionality to help with the user experience. It should not be the browsers responsibility as it is a Rare case. I hope this helped.
