How useful is COBOL in the business world today?

Answer:
COBOL is a mostly dead language. There are legacy systems out there with code written in COBOL and these systems need bug fixes just like any other system out there. If you have COBOL experience, you would be a very useful person to these companies. I don't think the demand for COBOL programmers is high enough to warrant training new programmers, otherwise more people would be learning COBOL
