Why must my question be 10 characters in length?

Why does Netflix limit the maximum length of passwords to 10 characters?

    Probably to save space in their database.  Which means they are probably not hashing passwords, which means they are probably storing passwords as plain text. This is a very poor security practice, so be careful about what password you use for Netflix. If Netflix were to be hacked, there is a good chance people would have access to your password.
