How can I judge if I like programming enough to commit to going back to school to get a second bachelors degree, this time in computer science?

Before starting school, you should try a online course. (take a look at  ) This way, you will get a feeling if programming is something you like. But to be honest, it should be more like an addiction. If you make your first programming steps and you just can't stop thinking about code, then you have the first 10% to succeed. The other 90% is hardcore discipline. Because it is never about how much you like something, it's always about how much pain you are willing to endure.

The best way to judge wether you like programming or not is by programming. Learn the basics. Go to your local Barnes & Noble, get a good beginners programming book, and follow it. There will be no better way to know whether you will like it enough or not. Or go to http://www.codecademy.com and follow their programming tutorials. It's more interactive than books but if you want to get a computer science degree, you better enjoy technical manuals a lot.
