What are the best resources to practice programming in web development?

I'm not looking for online resources to learn, I'm already onto it but some real life projects where I can practice my skills. Most of the projects/startups require "experienced" coder, where can I find projects to get practical programming experience as a beginner.

The absolute best such practice would be to just do something. I know this has been said before so many times but this is very true. Just pick a project, even one that already exists. Create a clone of a site you visit regularly. Try to create your clone to handle the same scale of the site you are copying. The challenges you'll face would be similar to those faced by the developers of the site you are cloning.
