There certainly is a massive gap in understanding between these two groups, and it is surprising how little communication exists between them. Yet each makes decisions that can profoundly affect the other. Quora is an ideal place for conversations to occur and understanding to develop. It would be valuable for both sides to have a bank of experts on the other side who are willing to answer direct questions, especially about sensitive things like patient care issues, incomes, marketing, legal situations and such. What these answers might lack in legal value (they could even be anonymous), they would make up in honesty and openness. It is this honesty and openness that I have found amazingly refreshing in the part of Quora that has to do with the computer industry. People involved with medicine are far more reluctant to be as honest and open in their answers, but Quora as a vehicle might be just the right formula to bring information out of them.
