How can I analyze my simple project using sonar?

All-around tool for tracking the project execution? Addressing the drawbacks of JIRA

  • Is there a tool, which supports an integrated tracking of all tasks, statuses, schedules, actions and communications, which relate to the project execution processes? Right now I'm using JIRA 90% of my time and I should say that it does cover almost everything for task planning needs, but its task execution control features are pretty weak, even with the available plugins. I need much more than just comments, history and time logging for a certain JIRA ticket. Concrete problems: 1. Bigger part of communications go through Skype messages, which can't be tagged / associated with JIRA ticket number. 2. Calendars are not integrated with JIRA schedules, so it's hard to analyze how meetings are interfering with JIRA tasks. 3. Traceability between documentation (or other artifacts) and JIRA tickets is possible with ad-hoc comments or file attachments for JIRA tickets. Or by using the supported integration between JIRA and other Atlassian products like Confluence. 4. Progress tracking is limited to "remaining time" concept in JIRA. Domain-oriented progress tracking can be enabled by subtasks, which define the concrete work packages for a higher level task. But still it will be more flexible to have a customized data model with the necessary attributes for progress tracking. I would summarize point #4 as "lack of easy data model customization". 5. Program management features - tracking progress when several teams are working on several projects, which relate to the same program. 6. ..... some other ones can be mentioned here.

If you are looking for a single tool to ensure you can visually create your roadmap, define the requirements, and ensure the teams are in sync, you may want to check out http://aha.io/. If you are simply looking for a bug tracking tool or something to organize  your sprints (because you already know what to build or the reqs are  coming from somewhere else), Aha! might not be right for you. Anyway, if you have not discovered the company yet, here's the background story. After our last two companies were acquired by Aruba Networks and Citrix respectively, we wanted to help product and engineering managers in software companies get their mojo back. We were tired  of using spreadsheets and wikis and trying to apply generic project management tools that were not designed for product and software management. We also had a hard time explaining the "whys" and well as managing all of the "whats." And like you, we needed a way to easily communicate where the product was headed. We also saw too many product folks beaten down by soft strategies, weak communications, and lousy tools. So, we built Aha! and seem to have    touched a nerve and are already serving some of the best known technology and Web companies around. Check out a few screenshots of what Aha! can do for agile teams that need to create and publish roadmaps (and manage everything else PM). Screenshot of roadmaps that can be shared via PDF or a Web page Screenshot of planning board (note the capacity and time tracking bars at the top of the sprints) Screenshot of feature planning Screenshot of sprint and release planning Screenshot of strategic planning
