What area in e-commerce  / local commerce / coupons is still open for new startups to grab?

  • The space of e-commerce / local commerce / coupons etc. seems to be very crowded already with competing startups. But then again, it seemed that way 2 years ago, and still new crazy ideas came out and surprised us all. What sweet-spot would you think has not been taken in this space yet?

In any business you must focus on the pain points of your potential customers. In local commerce space you have two types of consumers- sellers and buyers and you must satisfy both in order to get enough traction. Sellers pain points: No particular platform to reach out to potential buyers- There are a lot of startups who promote deals and coupons for local retail stores but unfortunately they miss the target and the chances of reaching potential buyers become very less. Technology to connect with loyal customers- For small and medium size retailers there is no such technology to help them connect with loyal customers.
