Is there an Android app that adds movie release dates to google calendar?
-
I am looking for a movie app that also adds movie release dates to calendar. So far, I have found a few that let me keep a list of movies i'm interested in in the app, but I'd rather have the reminder on my calendar so i don't have to go into the app to remember.

This is a great idea. I know of no app that provides for this. I did send feedback to the developers at Fandango suggesting this as a future feature. I recommend others do the same. Fandango has a link from within the app to provide feedback. Apple and BlackBerry are terrific at this type of cross functionality. Odd that Android developers have not gone this direction with a lot of their apps.

I'm building a service that solves this exact problem, our approach is slightly different however. Socialite allows you to subscribe to interests within any of the main categories, TV, Film, Music, Gaming and Sport and dates and events from those interests will be automaticallly added to your "feed". So if you see a movie trailer of something you like the sound of you can subscribe to that film on Socialite and it will appear in your feed. The idea is that as you scroll down on your feed you can see what you have to look forward. If you like the sound of this check out our website - http://www.getsocialite.com I do have to mention though that this will be initially launched on iOS, but fear not we intend to release a version for Android very soon.

Hey I know this is an old thread, but I actually released an Android app, Release Date Reminder, that does exactly this. The app allows you to add a reminder to your Google Calendar quickly and easily. Here's the link if you want to give it a try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nyelito.remindmeapp

You can grab the RSS feeds for new and upcoming movies from Fandango and then use IFTTT and create a recipe that will automatically create an event in your selected Google Calendar for that movie release date.
