How can one build their app against the Android framework jar from the source code, instead of the SDK android.jar?

When access is needed to hidden classes that are removed from the SDK

Answer:
Java reflection is a better way to access hidden APIs: http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2009/04/backward-compatibility-for-android.html You could drop your code in packages/apps/<App> and tweak the android build system to build the apk but I strongly suggest just using SDK and reflection to access these APIs.
