What is web conferencing?

How much does Web Conferencing tool ON24 actually cost?

  • On24 is an impressive software tool for web conferencing, but the costs are hidden from the website and aren't discussed openly on the web anywhere. How much does it cost? A range is fine. NOTE: A number or numbers is necessary to be consider a valid answer.

  • Answer:

Tricia - that is a non answer.  We all know how much citrix costs for webcasting.  Also, you have a BBC headline story on your home page about virtual conferencing, so any confusion is caused by your site, not by other people's assumptions. So once again - please give a price/cost range or I will never fill out your forms. You have what we call a "price hostile" web site.  Why?  Because most companies in your space post pricing plans and you make people fill out a form. Think you can just ignore me?  I have 20 clients who need webcasting. Also, please go read the Clue Train Manifesto.

The average price is around 1600 PER WEB CAST. It cost does vary because if you commit to a certain number of web casts a year they will lower the per cost price. By the way if you call them to ask they will give you the run around for days! I had a meeting scheduled with a business rep to find out pricing and sign my company up for their service and he never called and never emailed me. I had to contact him to figure out what happened- "he had other meetings scheduled". They definitely need to improve their customer service if they are charging that much. Needless to say we went with another company.

The article linked below claims that the price to hold a virtual conference using the On24 platform is in the range of $20,000-$50,000. However, I am not a customer and can't confirm if this is correct or not. http://www.sramanamitra.com/2012/06/29/on24-yet-another-saas-company-eying-ipo/

Google's native "G+ Hangout" does a fantastic job, including having up to 10 speakers. THe biggest advantage is unlimited number of participants. No other webinar platform offers this. Additionally, traditional services like 'call-in' phone number etc. are now available (for free) via APPS. Features like 'Q&A' make the webinar even more interactive. My full recommendation to G+ Hangouts because it's free, robust and supports unlimited participants. Also, the webinar will automatically gets recorded too :-)

Someone recommended On24, but when I couldn't find pricing I came here. And decided that I don't have that kind of time to invest in figuring out what it will really cost. Thanks to all for contributing here!

There seems to be some serious debates happening here about what is good and so forth. Whilst we can’t speak for any other provider in terms of value for money and the service delivered. We can mention Drum and what they provide. Currently providing a free web meeting solution hosted on their website. You can have up to 255 meeting participants for free with video and audio thrown in! No meeting limitations, just click and go http://thisisdrum.com

Come on Tricia...stating that On24 has custom options and using this as an excuse for not posting clear pricing is nothing but "Corporate Speak." Most CEO's that I know HATE your type of secrecy on pricing, because they all know what's behind it: the belief that if you can just lock us into a personal conversation you will be able to win us over by communicating all the compelling features you have. This is OLD STYLE PUSH MARKETING and it repels most people. Personally, I can't wait until another competitor comes along and shows you how to do it right...as your position smacks of pure smugness and disregards the true needs of your clients, not to mention the lack of a value for TRANSPARENCY. It's already hurting you and you guys don't even see it...which usually means that the market will have to be your teacher.

Three sales meetings later with ON24, I've decided my time would be better spent putting together my first successful webinar on ANOTHER platform...  same experience as the poster from two years ago, so one could conclude just is just the way this company approaches their sales process.

Brandlive is a great webcasting tool.  They don't state the price on their site either, but  they have a clear pricing plan.  It's about $3000 per month for unlimited usage.  Many features and customizations available,  including realtime interaction with the presenters, product modules, surveys, branded templates, etc.  http://www.yourbrandlive.com
