My suggestion, "Don't be obsessed with Data!". Try to find actionable data and then optimize the site accordingly. You can easily understand some metrics/dimensions such as Visits, Bounce rates, Keywords etc. The most important thing would be Goals and Funnels. If Google Analytics goals and funnels are more technical for you, use PadiTrack (http://paditrack.com). You can also apply some segmentation at Paditrack without any hassles. Thus, you'll be able see which traffic source is good or what set of keywords are helping more sale.
