I've had great experiences working with many of the sites from Caroline's quite comprehensive list. I can also add others who I trust, and who provide excellent information to unsigned/independent artists. http://www.midtnmusic.com DIY Music Movement http://www.diymusicmovement.com/%C3%A2%C2%80%C2%8E http://www.thegeminiproject.com.au/%C3%A2%C2%80%C2%8E http://evolver.fmttp://http://www.thinklikealabel.com http://www.jabberdi.com http://www.indie-music.com And for full disclosure, my own blog, which I've been running since 2010, provides music marketing advice for musicians. You can find it at http://www.independentmusicpromotions.com.

There are a lot of great choices here. I'd add a curation platform to this list that is the Coyle Report from Chandler Coyle. It's a weekly newsletter that he pulls together from the wide variety of musician-help sites across the world including podcasts. You can get it at http://musicgeekservices.comhttp://cdbabypodcast.com/ from CD Baby has a lot of great advice covering everything from music marketing to album releases to email and social media for musicians. http://dottedmusic.com/ and We Spin both provide great help tips for musicians at every stage of development covering a lot of different subjects.http://www.independentmusicpromotions.com/ has an incredible resource for musicians with helpful tips on a variety of subjects, particularly in promotions and PR. Also http://dgrantsmith.com/category/diy-artist-route/ gives insights from both successful indie & DIY musicians as well as professionals in the music industry.

D Grant Smith

It's not really genre specific, but a highly respected "big picture" blog about the music industry as a whole. The Lefsetz Letter: http://lefsetz.com/wordpress/

Can I throw my independent artist blog on the pile?  http://www.apparatus.ca/blog Here's a bit about us:  APPARATUS is specifically geared toward supporting independent artists  by creating opportunities for them to play and record, sharing  information to stay current, and developing systems to help artists be  financially sustainable.

For Spanish Independent Music, I really like http://www.jenesaispop.com I followed one of the bloggers, supervago, but he closed its own blog and opened with some collaborators.
