How does a business show up as a point of interest on a GPS map? Is it something where the business has to register w/ the individual providers?

To submit a business for inclusion on Google Maps, visit http://www.google.com/local/add/ for Navteq visit http://mapreporter.navteq.com/ and for Tele Atlas visit http://mapinsight.teleatlas.com These are the main GPS map suppliers that I know of.
